Where in the World is Fletcher?
Those of you following Fletcher on seaturtle.org may have noticed Fletcher has decided to head inland. Not to worry. Fletcher has decided the water is warmer and the shellfish are tastier in a large bay known as Stone Bay, North Carolina.

Hi Nicole.
The Sea Turtle Restoration Project has an office in Forest Knolls, CA. They work to protect endangered sea turtles in ways that make cultural and economic sense to the communities that share the beaches and waters with sea turtles. They have a number a wonderful conservation initiatives. See their website at http://www.seaturtles.org.
The California Turtle & Tortoise Club has chapters throughout the state. They are dedicated to turtle and tortoise preservation, conservation, and education. They have a number of conservation initiatives. See their website at http://www.tortoise.org.

Is there any turtle conservations in California?
Diana, I hope you saw that we will be releasing our Diamondback Terrapins this Thursday. Here’s the information:

Thanks for your interest. Many of the stranded sea turtles this year – including Fletcher – were transported south for release. NMLC doesn’t have any more sea turtles and I’m unaware of any releases scheduled by the New England Aquarium or other organizations.
We will be releasing several diamondback terrapins (small turtles) in the next several weeks. Stay tuned for information about that release.
Can you please tell us the dates for any sea animals to be released at local beaches this summer?
Thank you.
