Unfortunately, the contamination pre-dates environmental laws. Further, the responsible party no longer exists. We have been lucky to have some wonderful donations to bring the cost down. A local company donated clean fill and the Town of Bourne donated their time and trucks to haul the old fill away. The good news is that, with everyone's help, we are taking care of a historical problem and Main Street will be cleaner as a result! Thanks for your comment, Harriet.
