Where in the World: Dr Rogers Travels: Boston
Drs Williams and Dunnigan participated in a NOAA Fisheries sea turtle serious injury workshop where they presented examples of sea turtle / fishery interactions and lead discussions on the significance of certain types of injuries among a panel of sea turtle veterinary experts, sea turtle biologists, and government officials. The meeting was held in the historic north-end of Boston and will help improve the asscessment of sea turtles who have interacted with fishing gear. All species of sea turtles encountered in the United States and Territorial waters are protected by the Endangered Species Act.








The National Marine Life Center is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) marine animal hospital and science and education center dedicated to rehabilitating for release stranded sea turtles, seals, dolphins, porpoises, and small whales, and to advancing scientific knowledge and education in marine wildlife health and conservation.
