CALLING ALL ART LOVERS!

Wine and Cheese Reception for Painted Ladies Marine Life Art,
A Benefit for the National Marine Life Center

WHEN: Friday, June 18, 4-7 pm
WHERE: Marine Animal Discovery Center, 120 Main Street, Buzzards Bay
COST: Free to browse. Art work available for $50 each.

In preparation for the show, we will preview several paintings each day this week. Photographs, however, cannot do the art work justice!

Plan to visit the National Marine Life Center to browse the paintings in person. The artwork will hang in the Discovery Center throughout the summer until sold. Please note we cannot guarantee the availability of any painting; each is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are seriously interested in a painting, please contact Kathy at 508-743-9888 x301 or kzagzebski@nmlc.org to discuss the possibility of placing a hold on a piece.

The Painted Ladies are a group of local, independent watercolor artists who meet at the Jonathan Bourne Public Library.

They hold several art shows and sales and charitable events throughout the year. This is their first benefit for the National Marine Life Center! On behalf of the animals, thank you!

  1. Hi Patty.

Thanks so much for your interest in volunteering and in the artwork!

Re volunteering – right now we only have two patients, small turtles, and are covered with animal care shifts. However, if you and your friends are interested in helping later this year once we open our new hospital and begin admitting sea turtles and seals, now’s the time to sign up. Please:
    1) complete a volunteer application

    2) plan to attend a volunteer orientation this summer.

Re artwork – Most pieces are still available. You are welcome to stop by our Discovery Center any day between 10 am and 5 pm to view and purchase the art. If you like, I can place a “hold” on a piece until you are able to visit. Just let me know (kzagzebski@nmlc.org or 508-743-9888 x301).

    Thanks again!

  2. Hello -
A few friends and I would like to volunteer some time to help with the animal rescue efforts: We are all in healthcare, various aspects some in business/some at the bedside. I would also like to find out how I could purchase some of the artwork if it is still available?
    thanks so much,
    Patty
