IMG_3094-cropped jeffJeff Luce is our Board Chair.  A community relations specialist with NSTAR, he seems to know just about everyone on the Cape!  On special occasions, Jeff’s alter ego – Captain Morgan – appears in full pirate regalia including sword and pistol to collect tithes for the turtle!

By Michelle Bosch 154-cropped robRob Brennan is our Vice Chair.  An environmental attorney with Brennan, Dain, LeRay, Wiest, Torpy, and Garner P.C., Rob is a great source of information on LEED certification for green buildings and other issues.

Judy Honan is our Treasurer.  She is an enrolled agent and certified Quickbooks advisor with Harry Honan CPA, PC.  Judy’s Quickbooks and accounting skills are invaluable to us non-accounting types in the office!

Barb at MMBBarb Schneider is our Clerk.  A public relations, media, and education specialist, Barb is a godsend helping with press releases, letters, and brochures.  Barb also volunteers with the IFAW Marine Mammal Rescue and Research group and with the Friends of Falmouth Dogs.

FarrKevin Farr is in his second year as a Trustee.  He is the superintendent of the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School and always has his eyes out for projects and opportunities to help both NMLC and the students.

Lee McGLee McGraw is a new Trustee.  She is the Vice President for Business Development at the Hyannis Area Chamber of Commerce.  Her business and marketing skills have already been invaluable to NMLC!

Warehouse Demo 2008-06-26 014-cropped bill rBill Reich is a new Trustee.  The President of W.W. Reich, Inc., Bill has been involved with NMLC for several years first as owners representative for building our Life Support System Pump House and most recently as general contractor for our Marine Animal Hospital.  His construction expertise will be put to good use as NMLC continues to build our future!

IMG_1584-cropped mikeMike Ryer, DVM, MS is in his second year as a Trustee.  A senior staff veterinarian with the New England Animal Medical Center, Dr. Mike is always willing to help with our rehabilitating animals.  He also works closely with the diamondback terrapin program and has helped advise Patty’s care and treatment.

Joy sJoy Surprenant is in her second year as a Trustee.  The founder and president of Catching Joy, her passion in life is to promote volunteerism in school-aged children.  Joy has run several children’s events to teach kids about sea turtles and other marine animals and to benefit NMLC.

We are grateful for the leadership and dedication our Board of Trustees brings.  Thank you!

All of us have some one or ones we think of in particular on Veteran’s Day.  We’d like to recognize the following National Marine Life Center team members who have served our country.

Brian Moore is NMLC’s Animal Care and Facilities Coordinator, and the primary staff liaison for NMLC’s hospital construction project.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1992 to 1996.

Jeff Luce is a volunteer member of NMLC’s Board of Trustees and holds the office of Treasurer.  He served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972.
