Sea Turtles, Manatees and Seals, Oh My!

“Learn more about me this week!”-Townsend

February vacation week is in full effect so stop by and show your love for marine life at the National Marine Life Center! We are having daily education programs featuring a new animal each day. Tomorrow February 20th we will be learning about Manatees, the oceans gentle giant. Thursday February 21st, and Saturday February 23rd we will be featuring one of our favorite marine animals, Sea Turtles. On Friday February 22nd, and Sunday February 24th we will be learning about Seals and Sea Lions.  We’ll be kicking off each day with The Little Flippers Club where guests will be listening to stories about the featured animal, and making a marine animal craft featuring the daily animal. At 12:00, 2:00, and 4:00 PM we will be giving a patient update about our sea turtle patients, Townsend the seal, and our red bellied cooters. At 1:00 PM things will be taking a mysterious turn. We will be solving a marine animal medical mystery where attendees will learn how to care for a different animal, and some of the mysteries involved in wildlife rehabilitation. At 3:00 PM guests will do a little exploring in our discovery center for our Marine Animal Exploration. Through hands on activities, kids will learn about all their favorite marine animals, like who they are, where they live, and what they like to eat! We hope you and your kids will come and do some exploring about marine animals at the National Marine Life Center.
