Your gift helps NMLC provide medical care, food, equipment, facilities, and staff support for animals in rehabilitation. It also helps advance the science, education, and public awareness that make this work possible now and into the future.

Ways to Give
Your gift helps turn concern into care for sea animals. Whether you give once, plan a future gift, or support a specific part of the mission, your generosity helps NMLC provide rehabilitation, strengthen science, and educate the public about marine wildlife health.
Memorial & Tribute Gifts
With a memorial or tribute gift to the National Marine Life Center, you honor someone whose life has special importance to you. You also ensure that future generations will enjoy knowing that marine animals have been given a chance to survive and be released back to their ocean home.
You may also choose to establish a fund in memory of your loved one. These funds can be designated towards a specific program, such as rehabilitation, science, or education, or towards general operations, to ensure the National Marine Life Center’s sustainability into the future.
Matching Gifts
One way to increase the impact of your individual gift is to check if your employer can match your donation. Thousands of companies, small and large, have Matching Gift programs which double or even triple individual, tax-deductible contributions made by their employees and retirees. Your employer may be one of them!
The process is simple.
- Ask your employer if your company participates in a Matching Gift Program.
- If the answer is yes, obtain a Matching Gift Form from your personnel office or matching gift coordinator.
- Complete the Matching Gift Form.
- Send the Matching Gift Form along with your tax-deductible contribution to:

Securities and Stock Gifts are currently tax deductible at their fair market share. A gift of appreciated securities, stocks, or bonds may have additional benefits to the donor.

Pledges
Pledges are gifts of cash or securities payable over several years. A combination of an initial gift of cash or securities and a multi-year pledge helps NMLC plan for the future. Call (508) 743-9888 to arrange a pledge and payment schedule.
Vehicle Donation
We have established an arrangement with Donate For Charity to process our vehicle donations. Donate For Charity arranges a free vehicle pickup, handles all the DMV issues, sells the vehicle at auction, and distributes the net proceeds to National Marine Life Center.
By donating, you avoid the headache of selling a used vehicle, help support National Marine Life Center, and receive a receipt entitling you to a tax deduction.

Planned Giving / Bequests
Marine Life Legacy Circle
As animals continue to strand on Cape Cod and southeastern Massachusetts, the need for a local rehabilitation facility becomes more critical to ensure that these stranded animals receive prompt care and their best chance for release and survival. A bequest to the National Marine Life Center helps guarantee that we can continue to rehabilitate and release sick and injured marine animals, advance science, and teach about marine wildlife health and conservation for years to come.
By kindly leaving the National Marine Life Center in your will, you become a part of our Marine Life Legacy Circle, providing a future for sick and injured ocean animals. Your attorney will need to know our legal name is National Marine Life Center, Inc. We are a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, (Tax I.D. #04-3290276). Our exemption provides a tax savings to you and your estate.
Types of Bequests:
A Specific Bequest allows you to leave a specified gift. It is usually in the form of a cash distribution. To make a specific bequest: “I give, devise, and bequeath to the National Marine Life Center, Inc., P.O. Box 269, 120 Main Street, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532, the sum of $xxxx.xx to be used to care for stranded marine animals, advance science, and promote environmental education.”
A Residuary Bequest allows you to leave a “remainder” or a percentage of your estate to the National Marine Life Center. To leave a residuary: “I give, devise, and bequeath to the National Marine Life Center, Inc., P.O. Box 269, 120 Main Street, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532 all [or insert % here] of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to be used to care for stranded marine animals, advance science, and promote environmental education.”
A Contingency Bequest allows you to make your gift contingent on other circumstances. To make your bequest contingent: “If any of the above-named beneficiaries should predecease me, I hereby bequeath his or her share to the National Marine Life Center, Inc., P.O. Box 269, 120 Main Street, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532 to be used to care for stranded marine animals, advance science, and promote environmental education.”
