This just in – NMLC’s summer 2012 programs schedule is now available!  From July 2 through August 31, 2012, NMLC offers onsite education programs each weekday for kids of all ages.  Join us, and learn more about our native marine animals!

Patient Update
Mondays & Fridays, 11 am
(All ages are welcome.)
Meet a member of our animal care staff and learn about the wildlife patients we currently have in-house. Ask questions about our new marine animal hospital. Free.

Little Flippers Club
Children enjoying story time at Little Flippers Club.Tuesdays & Thursdays 11 am – 12 pm
(All ages are welcome and best suited for ages 3-8.  Children must be supervised.)
Storytime at 11 am, immediately followed by an Arts & Crafts project. Different theme each week! Tuesday program repeats on Thursday. Cost $3 members/$5 non-members per child per program.

July 3rd & 5th – Polar Bears & Sea Otters
July 10th & 12th – Sea Turtles
July 17th & 19th – Manatees & Dugongs
July 24th & 26th – Dolphins, Porpoises, & Whales
July 31st & Aug 2nd – Sharks, Rays, & Skates
Aug 7th & 9th – Seals, Sea Lions, & Walrus
Aug 14th & 16th – Penguins, Puffins, & Gulls
Aug 21st & 23rd – Pirate & Mermaid Party! (Come in costume if you want!)
Aug 28th & 30th – Red-Bellied Cooters & Diamondback Terrapins

Wednesdays 11 am
(Recommended for ages 8-14. Parents/guardians welcome to participate.)
Come learn what it takes to be a marine animal care technician. What are some of the questions and “mysteries” that our animal care staff investigate at every day? Weekly themes are the same as Little Flippers Club above. Cost $3 members/$5 non-members per child per program.
Space is limited. Please reserve your spot by calling (508) 743-9888 x12 at least 24 hours in advance.

General Information for Drop-In Programs:
~ RSVP suggested but not required (except for Marine Animal Mystery).
~ Cost: $3 members/$5 non-members per child per program (except for Patient Update, which is free).
~ All proceeds help fund NMLC’s rehabilitation, science, and education programs.

~  NEW! ~ Marine Animal Discovery Workshop
Students learn how to measure and examine stranded animals.5- or 4-day workshop, three sessions available – June 25-29, July 2-6, and July 30-August 2. 
(Ages 9-13)
Spend several days this summer discovering marine animals!  Dive into the world of marine animal biology and conservation as you spend a week getting to know your favorite seafaring species.  Learn how wildlife rehabilitation experts tend turtles, study seals, and doctor dolphins!  You’ll also learn about sharks and tide pool animals.  Spend each day discovering a different marine animal or exploring an aquatic ecosystem and participate in exciting indoor and outdoor activities.
