August Turtle Release

On August 23, 2012 the National Marine Life Center released six Red Bellied Cooter patients at Burrage Pond in Hanson, MA. Three (Newton, Darwin, & Linneaus) had recovered from shell fungal infections, and three (Phelps, Spitz & Thorp) had recovered from metabolic bone disease. It was a joyful event attended by many of our volunteers and a wonderful way to end a summer! Thank you to everyone who put in time and dedication to helping these little guys recover and get back out where they belong!
