Catching Joy and The Blue Bunny Support NMLC’s Efforts to Save the Seals!
Catching Joy and The Blue Bunny bookstore in Dedham Square teamed up to support the National Marine Life Center’s efforts to “Save The Seals” at a special event on August 25, 2010. Joy read stories about ocean life and the kids made simple and adorable seal puppets. Joy told the story about “Shitake”, the sick seal that NMLC rescued, cared for and successfully released back into the ocean. Joy taught about pinnipeds- seals, seal lions and walruses- and how to protect them. Kids showed great care to help the seals and other ocean life. They discussed things that kids can do- no littering, no polluting, clean up beaches, spread the word, and support organizations that help marine animals. Afterwards, the kids enjoyed gold fish crackers and juice.
Thank you, Catching Joy kids! Thank you, Blue Bunny!
We hope you have a seal-ly great week, everyone! Happy #sealsunday!
