Extech Installation – Day 1
It was a chilly fall morning. The polycarbonate plastic of the Extech panels was stiff with the cold which made this first day of installation somewhat challenging. Nevertheless, Richard and Mac from Target Construction, assisted by NMLC’s Animal Care and Facilities Coordinator Brian Moore, rose to the challenge! With two people in the lift and one at the bottom, the first 24-foot 1-inch was affixed in place. From then, subsequent panels with their “tongue-in-groove” design each fit together like a puzzle. Stainless steel fittings at the crossbeams provide additional attachment points. Work got a little faster as the crew became used to the system. By the end of the day, seven panels were in place!
