National Marine Life Center Fourth of July Float!
As one of the 2012 summer interns, I can definitely say I have enjoyed every experience thus far. I have learned so much about turtle anatomy and care, in addition to working education programs and festivals. However, during the summer holiday season, we have taken on a new project. Currently at the National Marine Life Center, the interns and staff have been hard at work to build a Fourth of July Float! Without giving away too much and leaving some surprises for the parade, we have decided to prepare a patriotic sea life float. As the Olympic Games approach, we decided to incorporate some competitive spirit into our construction. Some athletic themes may be present in the final product. All who have worked on the float have become experts in creating sea life out of chicken wire, as well as learning how to decorate with enormous amounts of tissue paper. Day by day, we have come to realize how cool this float will be. If you would like to see the National Marine Life Center’s float all put together, please come down to the Fourth of July parade in Bourne, MA starting at 10am. You may be in for some surprises as well as some sweet treats! See you there and Happy Fourth of July.
