Seeing and Being Green

With St. Patrick’s Day just past and spring on the way, it seems like we are seeing green everywhere!

In order to preserve our green earth and keep our oceans clean and blue here are a few tips on being green. One of our favorite frogs, Kermit claims that “it’s not easy being green” but we at the National Marine Life Center beg to differ!

Our first tip is to practice the three R’s, reduce, reuse, and recycle. We all know how convenient it is to drink bottled water, but instead try using a reusable water bottle to save the plastic.

Our next tip is to conserve water! Our flippered friends need somewhere to swim so try to take shorter showers, turn off the water when brushing your teeth.

Another easy way to be green and conserve energy is to turn off your lights and appliances when not in use. Not only will that benefit the environment but it will also benefit you with a smaller electricity bill. Not so bad right?

Not only would these tips improve your life but it would improve the environment. What are your tips on being green?
